01Getting started

Create a note and begin writing without a ChanMing account. Use headings, lists, tasks, quotes, code blocks, tables, formulas, images and file attachments. Settings > Welcome Notes provides examples.

Organize up to four folder levels and use search, properties, templates, saved views, data tables, task summaries, boards and calendars. These use the same notes/properties. A calendar date property is not a system reminder or external calendar integration.

02iCloud or attachment issues

Check Settings > iCloud Sync, your system iCloud sign-in, sync setting, connectivity and iCloud storage. Devices must use the same content Apple Account; it need not be a developer account.

Text and originals transfer separately: visible text does not prove all originals are downloaded. Check pending/missing items and retry or download originals as needed. Save and back up first; do not uninstall to troubleshoot. Use version comparison for conflicts; syncing does not forcibly replace active editing.

03Deletion, backups and restore

Check Trash first after accidental deletion. Settings > Data & Backup > Create Complete Backup preserves a point in time. Review missing-original warnings: a backup cannot recover originals it does not contain.

Restore from Backup creates a separate local copy and keeps the original. After reviewing a recovered copy, import selected content into the original library if needed for sync. Sync propagates edits and deletions; it is not an independent historical backup.

04Import, export and attachments

Settings > Data & Backup imports Markdown, HTML, folders, ZIP files and ChanMing packages; exports include Markdown, HTML, PDF and ChanMing packages. Reading formats do not preserve all management data. Use a complete backup for full migration.

On iPhone/iPad, use Files or Photos. On Mac, use the file picker or drag and drop. External HTML resources need reachable URLs. Protected or restricted files may not import; save the source file and add it manually instead.

05Pro, restoration and cancellation

Pro currently offers alternate app icons only; the default teal icon stays free. Icons apply per device and do not change the note theme. Current Mac Catalyst builds do not support alternate-icon switching.

Monthly, yearly and one-time lifetime products are being prepared. Availability and local pricing are shown by the App Store and app; this page does not imply unreviewed products can already be purchased. Restore an existing purchase through Settings > Pro > Restore Purchases with the original purchasing Apple Account. These products do not stack into different benefits.

Monthly/yearly subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled in Apple subscription management. Lifetime does not renew. Removing the app, disabling sync or changing icons does not cancel a subscription. Request refunds from Apple: https://reportaproblem.apple.com/ . Do not send Apple Account passwords, payment-card details or a full library. If a sample note or diagnostic is necessary, we will explain why and you choose whether to share it. We cannot remotely read your private iCloud library through email.
