CATCARP PAPER

ENGLISH

CatCarp Paper Privacy Policy

Applies to version 6.1.0 and versions using the same data practices.
Effective date: 2026-10-21

CatCarp Paper is provided by CatCarp. This policy explains on-device processing, interactions with external services, and your choices when browsing, editing, creating DIY paper, using Sudoku, exporting or purchasing.

No CatCarp account is required. Editing and DIY work are primarily processed on your device. The app does not provide developer-operated cloud synchronisation or online backup of your work. Purchases, system font downloads, websites you open and sharing destinations you choose may require a network connection.

1. Content and settings on your device

The app locally stores favourites, edited text, applicable paper settings, language preferences, custom-grid settings and DIY work. DIY records include names, component or sticker types, positions, dimensions and borders. Tools retain settings according to their existing behaviour; some settings last only for the current session.

These records are kept in local files or settings and are not uploaded to our servers when you browse, edit, zoom or switch templates. Exporting may create cached files such as PDFs on your device. Copies you save to Files or share are managed by the destination you select.

Your operating system may back up or transfer app data according to your backup, migration and cloud-storage settings. This is separate from any developer-operated service. Keep your own backups of important work and exported files.

2. Purchases and restoration

Permanent VIP is a one-time App Store purchase, not a subscription. Apple processes product pricing, transactions and restoration. The app receives product and transaction results to recognise and restore entitlements, including historical purchases.

Entitlement status is stored in local settings and the system keychain. We do not receive your Apple Account password, full payment-card details or banking information through the app. Apple’s handling of account, payment and transaction information is described in its App Store & Privacy notice.

3. Camera and Sudoku QR codes

The camera is used only when you open the Sudoku scanner. Frames and QR-code recognition are processed on the device. The current implementation does not record video, save camera frames or upload scanner frames to our servers.

You may deny or revoke camera permission in system Settings. Live scanning will then be unavailable, but browsing, editing and exporting remain available. Exported Sudoku pages include their answer QR codes; recipients can use those codes to view the corresponding answers.

4. Exporting, sharing and printing

PDFs and images are generated locally. Continue to Print/Share opens the system share sheet. When you select a destination, the file is handed to the selected app, file provider, recipient or printing service. Cloud storage or network transfer by that destination is subject to its rules.

Review files for personal information before sharing. Deleting local app content does not delete copies held by recipients or external services, and we cannot delete those copies on their behalf.

5. Fonts, websites and support

Some interface fonts may be downloaded on demand through Apple’s system font service, which manages the download and cache. Font requests do not include your paper text or DIY work. A fallback font is used when the requested font is unavailable.

When you open a privacy page, printing guide, App Store page or another external link, that service receives network information needed to deliver the page, such as an IP address and browser request information. Its privacy rules apply.

We do not retain IP addresses or access logs for CatCarp Paper’s own policy/help websites, and we do not use website analytics tools. Delivering a webpage still requires temporary processing of necessary network request information; this is distinct from retaining access logs. Apple and other external services process information under their own policies.

Please use catcarp@163.com as the preferred channel for feedback and privacy requests. The app also currently offers public-account support guidance; that account is personally maintained by CatCarp’s operator. If you voluntarily contact us, we receive the message and contact information supplied by the channel. Do not send unnecessary identity documents, full payment details, passwords or other sensitive information.

Support records are used only to respond, troubleshoot and address related disputes. Support emails and attachments are retained until the issue and any necessary related dispute handling are complete, then deleted. Where applicable law requires further retention, we retain them only within that scope and period. The email and public-account service providers handle information under their respective rules.

6. Diagnostics, analytics and advertising

This version does not enable Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics or advertising-tracking SDKs, and does not read an advertising identifier for cross-app advertising tracking. We do not sell your paper content or use it for advertising profiles.

If you choose to share analytics with app developers in system settings, Apple may provide app-related crash, performance or usage information to help improve stability. Apple and your settings control that sharing. You can manage it under Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements. See Apple’s App Analytics & Privacy notice.

We use only diagnostics and statistics provided by Apple. We view them only on Apple’s platforms, do not download or separately retain them, and do not use other diagnostic or analytics services. Retention and sharing on Apple’s platforms are governed by Apple’s applicable policies and settings.

7. Components and service boundaries

The app uses MMKV and system settings for local storage, SAMKeychain for the local keychain, SwiftyStoreKit for Apple purchases, and interface, layout and image components. Inclusion of a component does not itself mean its provider receives data. In the current implementation, the local components do not transmit your work to their providers.

Purchases, font downloads, websites and sharing destinations operate in the circumstances described above. Ordinary editing does not send your work, favourites or entered text to those services.

8. Your choices and contact

You can edit or clear text, remove favourites and delete DIY components using the relevant tools. To remove all data in the app’s local container, use the system’s Delete App option; offloading while retaining data is not the same. Back up files you need first.

Deleting the app may not remove historical entitlement status in the system keychain. Apple transaction records, system backups and copies shared elsewhere are managed separately and are not automatically deleted with the app.

There is no developer account to close. To request access, correction or deletion of information you voluntarily sent to support, contact us below. We will verify and respond within applicable legal time limits, and explain any required retention.

9. Children, security and changes

Parents and guardians should guide children when using purchases, sharing and support, and avoid unnecessary disclosure of personal information. Contact us if you believe a child sent us information without appropriate authorisation.

We use reasonable access controls and protective measures within our responsibilities, but no system is completely secure. Device locks, backups and operating-system settings also affect local data security.

Material changes to these practices will be reflected in an updated policy with an effective date and any notice or consent required by law. This policy does not replace system permission choices or treat continued use as blanket consent to new data processing.
